About

Dr. Jeffrey A. Blatnik leads the Washington University hernia surgery team. Dr. Blatnik is a fellowship-trained minimally invasive surgeon. He earned his medical degree and completed general surgery residency and an abdominal wall surgery fellowship at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Blatnik offers the most advanced surgical techniques for hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction. As the Hernia Center director, he works closely with primary care physicians, imaging experts and other specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients with hernias.

“We work closely with referring physicians and experts from other specialties to ensure that our patients receive all the care they need,” says Dr. Blatnik. “At Washington University, we see more patients with complex hernias than any other center in the area. We are always ready to care for patients with even the most complex cases.”

Dr. Blatnik specializes in incisional hernia, inguinal hernia and ventral hernia repair, as well as revisional hernia surgery and treatments for benign esophageal diseases. He has experience fixing common hernias as well as the most complex cases. Dr. Blatnik is committed to helping patients understand their treatment options and make the best decisions for their health.
